my least favourite from the second trilogy, despite being the finale of it.

it has a great start, puzzles and soundtrack were great as always, but the story hampers down my overall enjoyment of the story. the middle part is dragged down by the whole world trip shenanigans, and not to mention that i wasn't satisfied with how the finale arc was executed.

i feel like level-5 was trying to pull off the same effect with the first trilogy but fails so hard bcos of how the story went. its a shame bcos layton is famous for pulling off tearjerkers at the end of the story.

when the game was first announced, i keep my expectations low. i was on the fence with the character designs, but boy im glad i did tamper my expectations.

despite its very simple storyline (typical hero saving the world from an evil dragon thru the power of friendship thing), i kinda had fun with this game. like, really. the characters are fun in their own right, the kingdoms and nations are unique, and most of all, the gameplay is a blast.

i haven't touched the DLC yet but overall my only issue is that grinding for levels, money and bond levelling can be a bit tedious. i wish the DLCs would have bonus levelling maps or anything.

that being said, it didnt completely ruin my whole experience. at the end of the day, it was one hell of a nostalgia trip: the game worth buying. especially if you have played some of the previous FE games.

the best ace attorney game of all titles, followed by gyakuten kenji 2.

the first game starts slow and drags a bit in the later cases but once you hit case 5 of the first game until the second game, that's where the fun starts.

really glad to have enjoyed the story blind and avoided the spoilers since the first time it was announced.

also glad to play this after playing professor layton vs phoenix wright: ace attorney, the game that led to the creation of this spinoff.
