My deep dive into the rabbithole of niche japanese games that never got an English release continues as I find this little gem, Ghost Sweeper Mikami: Joreishi wa Nice Body for the Super Famicom.

First of all, the soundtrack slaps. The music is on par with anything else groovy from this era of gaming, and it had me immersed into every level.

The combat was fun for what it was, though frustrating at times. That's just the reality of a retro platformer honestly. The boss fights were pretty cool, all providing something unique, and solid challenge for me. I forget how easy games have gotten nowadays, not to sound like a boomer. But back then games THRIVED off of you dying over and over, it's the arcade mentality.

Ghost Sweeper Mikami was a pleasant surprise, and though not the greatest adventure I've ever been on, provided a unique platformer that took up a Friday morning for me.

I give Ghost Sweeper Mikami: Joreishi wa Nice Body a 7!
