Needed another year or two in the oven. Despite a rather enjoyable game loop and fun classes to try out, game felt half-baked. Terrible quest design, too few monster types, absolutely awful ending. I don’t regret my time with the game but I find it unfortunate to be so close to good yet so far away.

The game was at its best during the beginning and again at the end. Aesthetically beautiful, decent story, but boring characters and combat (until late game when there was enough MP to let loose). Much preferred Chained Echoes.

Fascinating delve into a historical game with toggleable QoL updates. Cruel and demanding.

I understand and even agree with some of the complaints (especially that the open world wasn’t particularly exciting and messed up the pacing); however, I loved this game. AAA game that is serious, campy, vulnerable, silly, was obviously a labor of love, excellent combat, great voice acting and characterization, so much to do (the brutal combat challenges are WIP). Looking forward to a hard play thru focused on story before the third game comes out.

Ambitious and unusual, sometimes beautiful, always full of heart; but too often clunky in a “am I playing a game from the 2000s?” way, beginning of the game was rather boring, music is overall meh.
