Wow, what a vibe. The soundtrack, the look of the environments, the style of the menus. I wasn't expecting a story at all in here, let alone for it to presented in such a fashion. The game immediately grabs you from its opening cutscene, and from the second you start playing it's fun to drive. I feel like there's something telling in the fact that Ridge Racer is the only racing game that I play in a first person perspective. It just feels right that way, in a way that I don't click with in other racing games.

My one gripe is that I wish there were more tracks, or at the very least variety in how the grand prix presents tracks to you. Fortunately the tracks it does have are extremely fun to play, even after a dozen races.
