Another fantastic entry in the LAD/Yakuza series that takes every mechanic and nitpick from the previous game (LAD7) and improves on it. The turn based combat is once again an absolute blast to play through, and being able to position your party members for chain attacks or back attacks adds so much depth that it never gets old or feels too repetitive. This game has so much content in it can actually be a bit overwhelming to the player, there's a Pokémon game, an animal crossing game, crazy taxi, karaoke, gambling, dungeons, substories, it honestly has 100+ hours of content to keep you occupied. Paired with a great and engaging story, I felt great finally finishing it and having most of my questions answered. There are a few unanswered questions which felt the game could have elaborated on if the story was an hour or two longer, but otherwise It was well written and mostly satisfying to finish. My only complaint is that Sega made NG+ a paid DLC, which is inexcusable. Play this game last, make sure you've played the entire Kiryu saga and LAD7+Gaiden for the best and most fulfilling playthrough.
