Another 10/10 entry in this series. While MGS 3 isn't as daring or artistically boastful as MGS 2, it is still an amazing entry that evolved the series and the stealth genre as a whole. As usual with my reviews on older games, in particular classics that most people have already played, I won't go into too much detail about what's great here because odds are, you already know what's great about this game.

That being said, its a miracle that Kojima was able to create such a fantastic final product here despite how much this game was made to "correct" the direction with MGS 2 at the time. While that game is praised now, many people disliked it back in the day. Were it not for the hate that game got, we may not have had a MGS 3 at all. And even if we did, it would probably look a lot different than the one we ended up getting.

While MGS 3 isn't as mind bending or ahead of its time as its predecessor, it is still an incredibly enjoyable ride. Some of the controls haven't aged the best, but once you get used to them you hardly even notice. The story is more straight forward this time around, but it still has some classic Kojima twists and turns that you don't see coming. The final act of this game is also the most adrenaline pumping thing in existence, with the ending itself being incredible.

I'm so glad that I am finally able to experience this legendary series, but it also makes me sad that Kojima will never actually get to work with it again. Nowadays Kojima is just throwing his insanity into Death Stranding, which while good in its own right, doesn't hold a candle to Kojima's work with MGS. Now to hunt down a copy of Twin Snakes and 4.
