Okay game. It's definitely funny to think of this game as a lost Devil May Cry game considering the game was developed by the same people and uses the same kinds of mechanics, but a Devil May Cry game this game really is not. I will say immediately off the bat that if you want to play this game as a Devil May Cry fan expecting a Devil May Cry game, you are going to be rather disappointed. Jack Skellington's moveset does not nearly have the agility, flexibility, or variety as Dante, and the combo ranking system only judges based on total combo count rather than move variety, so you can spam a multi hit AoE attack in a bunch of enemies and get the highest combo rating easily. That being said, while this game isn't a very good DMC game, I do think it is a good way to introduce people to the genre. The games combat still has some polish to it, and the simplified moveset makes it easier for say, a younger player to understand and play the game with. In that aspect, this game succeeds. Overall, I think that the game is okay, and really your enjoyment of this will depend on what you are expecting going in.
