for the last twinbee shmup, they went all-out. Definitely feels more like a sequel to detana rather than popn, which I definitely appreciated seeing as I liked that game more. Gameplay-wise it felt like a culmination of the previous games. The charge shot from detana returns, with the flexibility of being able to choose 4 different types of charge shots. There's also a weapons system where destroying ground targets can earn weapons for twinbee to use, though equipping two at once can prevent you from using ground bombs as twinbees hands are too full to throw bombs with. The presentation here is INSANE. The art is the best it has ever been, there's a mfin vocal opening and ending, voice acting throughout the stages, and fun setpieces in each level. I think the point of twinbee is to try and make a playable shoot-em-up anime episode and they succeeded with flying colors here. It's all paced really fast making the game feel like an exciting theme park ride. I do think it did end a bit abruptly though as I was expecting some kind of final climax showdown that didn't really happen but eh. Out of all the Twinbee games I have played, I've liked this one the most. Just a quick crazy burst of colorful arcade nonsense that I'm sure to go back to again and again whether to play the game in co-op or to try and get that 1CC. Banger.
