Some people have told me before that this game would be like The Last of Us. However, aside from its apocalyptic streak, I would rather call A Plague Tale: Innocence would rather be compared to the Uncharted games, with all its strengths and weaknesses. The stealth gameplay is okay, although I would like to see a little more variety. The action gameplay is a bit imprecise at times, but unique enough. Both can keep the game afloat quite well overall, sending us from one setpiece to the next setpiece.

Unfortunately, over the course of the game, the atmosphere slowly degrades. The dialogues are weak and fail to convey the complex characters in a comprehensible way (the sequel did a much better job of this). The game remains very superficial and in the end we shimmy from one entertaining moment to the next without reaching the depth that gameplay and narrative could provide.
