Early on there's a gunfight at a rebel-occupied junkyard covered with snow. Sure, it's the Source Engine but it somehow managed to look and sound good: bullets whizzing, rusting cars getting riddled with gunfire, running from place to place trying to take out snipers all the while - it was thrilling stuff.
That's in the first 30 or so minutes of this mod, and after that the metrocop vs. rebels plotline is tossed in the garbage in favor of shitty puzzles and fucking terrible boss fights. I can't overstate how bad these elements are. How samey and poorly designed the levels are. The moment you go underground is the moment the game goes under, and I really mean it. Bad puzzles. Bullet sponge enemies that spawn in front of you and OHKO you. An ESCORT MISSION. The final boss was so bad that it surprised me, even considering how lackluster the previous sections were. Dogshit.
It's like the most detested elements of game design got shoved into a blender, really amazing. This mod is pure coal.
