Games that deserve a remake

Generally, I'm not a big fan of remakes, and moreover, I believe that remaking some games (like Morrowind or Silent Hill 2) would never work, but there are some games that I could see being reimagined properly and standing out as separate games that could work in a modern game design approach. Plus, the success of Black Mesa and Final Fantasy VII and Resident Evil remakes proves that sometimes they could be a good thing that doesn't ruin the legacy or core ideas.

Metal Gear
Metal Gear
Necessity: The true first entry of the great franchise which is still ignored by many players. I believe that it's very important part storywise as it's the first game that features Solid Snake and its events are referenced in further games.
Approach: Pretty simple one, you can just make a new game with the same plot and setting, but completely overhauled modern gameplay (just don't let Konami do it and find someone else instead).
I Have No Mouth, and I Must Scream
I Have No Mouth, and I Must Scream
Necessity: Another underrated classic, that is both thematically profound and has a variety of locations and puzzles which can look good in 3D environment.
Approach: Take Myst 2021 remake as an example of transforming point-and-click game into a 3D adventure puzzle.
Deus Ex
Deus Ex
Necessity: It's an undeniable classic that was ahead of it's time, both in its ideas and gameplay. However, it has a lot of clunkiness, especially in the last third of the game, which is not intentional.
Approach: Basically all it needs is better graphics, gameplay (especially action gameplay), UI and modernized locations. And leave RPG elements as they are.
Hitman 2: Silent Assassin
Hitman 2: Silent Assassin
Necessity: Arguably the best part of early Hitman which has the most cohesive plot, biggest variety of locations and a lot of potential for different playstyles. But at the same time it also has tons of bugs, clunkiness and other issues (the famous "no running" problem).
Approach: Most missions here are basically one long continuous mission broken down into 2-3 smaller ones. They can be remade as a bigger locations as in modern Hitman games. Some will be more linear, but it's the same with the original game. Plus improved gameplay mechanics in general.
The Longest Journey
The Longest Journey
Necessity: The first part of a really underrated franchise. With the last installment released in 2016 it's crazy how separated they feel and the remake could fix that and bring new attention to the games.
Approach: Same as I Have No Mouth..., just remake point-and-click into a full 3D action-adventure with better graphics.
Ricochet
Ricochet
Necessity: Idk, I love the core concept of the game and feel like it had potential if anyone cared.
Approach: Aside from general improvements you just need to implement the gameplay into bigger and more interesting maps (it's not that simple, sure, but that's more than enough).
