Tomb Raider: Legend is the logical continuation of what Anniversary started. This time, the game doesn't rely on a predecessor from the '90s but invents itself completely, adopting both the strengths and, unfortunately, the weaknesses of Anniversary. The jumps are still a bit off. The story once again revolves around Lara's quest to find her mother and the secret artefacts that will open the path to Avalon. The levels are lovingly crafted, and one of my favourite highlights is the inclusion of the Arthus Museum as a captivating attraction.

In this instalment, the game introduces more dynamics within the levels through the use of communication between Lara, Zip, and Alistair. She informs them about the ongoing events, while she receives snarky and frightened comments in return. Although it doesn't always hit the mark, those dialogues possess a certain charm. The addition of Amanda as an antagonist sheds light on Lara's past, but as a rival, she doesn't quite hit the mark with a 100% impact.

Nonetheless, the core of the game remains true to its roots, featuring action-packed gameplay consisting of acrobatics, puzzles, and intense shoot-outs. This time around, the enemies consist mostly of humans rather than animals. With Legend, developer Crystal Dynamics has crafted a fantastic classic that easily secures a spot in my personal top 5.
