haven't played sengoku yet so i can't vouch for a totally accurate comparison, but given that the goal in kichikuou rance is to rule the world rather than fuck every girl in japan, there's a lot more of a focus on territory management, decision making and combat over anything at all pertaining to sex. it's still there and rooted in the series' humor and personaliy, but the vast majority of the explicit shit is bound to the harem menu and therefore entirely avoidable

as for the scenes themselves in kichi, they're all extremely short and disappear within about a second if you hold the right click. if the general sense of humor of rance steers you away though, then i'd say not to bother. it's extremely crass in a way pretty much everybody will either love or hate with the passion of a thousand fiery suns

i say this as someone who doesn't really care about the sex and just accepts it as coming with the territory, so ymmv, but it might be worth a look. iunno. please let me know if you ever find what you're looking for not associated with rance though, because i'd love to play more stuff of this nature too. closest thing i really can think of is xcom but not really

on a similar note to kichikuou (though not sure about sengoku) i'm also taking interest in lobotomy corporation. haven't played it so iunno how apt of a comparison this is, but it seems like it's similarly menu/strategy based and downright hostile to the player to an easily filtering degree. so that may or may not scratch an itch too

@chandler lobotomy corp seems awesome as does library of ruina. you'll have to let me know what you think of it when you get around to it, i'm picking it up soon myself
