Ah, yes, the game that started off the really unfortunate trend of the first Pokemon game on a new system being a complete mess. People complain about XY and SWSH like that was something new, but god, Diamond. The Pokemon variety was awful to the point where most of the Pokemon that got cool new evolutions were locked to the postgame, it was slower than molasses in January, and there really wasn't enough to recommend it to make up for the flaws that were still present in Platinum. It was still fun at the time, mind, but woof. Platinum was such a meteoric improvement that it's kind of funny.
