Disclaimer: I Kickstarted this game.

My take on Queen's Wish 2 is basically the same as it was on Queen's Wish 1. The game is too large and too repetitive with not enough to hold my interest beyond the writing.

Unfortunately, the story here isn't as unique, because it feels like a retread of the first game with a couple of tweaks. A land you are sent to bring to heel populated by three different groups of people with different cultures and resources for you to exploit. You make choices orbiting around respecting the people's customs and land or just forcing them to do what you want. A small addition of governors for each area that are you are investigating and judging to see if they need to be replaced seems interesting, but I didn't play far enough for this to come to anything.
There is a main plot about some mysterious person causing havoc from the hills, but again, I didn't play far enough to see what this results in.

Many quests, dungeons, and areas are essentially indistinguishable from the first game, which is a bummer.
The combat itself has all the same shortcomings and problems, with not much to hold my interest.

You know what you are getting into if you played the first game. The lack of a new hook or some interesting expansion on the ideas means I found this one to be strictly worse.

doesn't seem like kickstarting this game turned out well for you, but that only makes me respect you more for being unbiased, objective, critically inclined, fair and discerning

It did turn out well! A passionate guy got to keep making games he is passionate about!

I have backed some games that are great and some games that are not, but I don't really kickstart games with any expectation of delivery or even quality, so I never regret backing them. If I happen to get a game I like out of it, then that is a cool bonus!

Thanks for the comment!
