hearthstone has a lot to like: a charming art style, easy to pick up mechanics, and a cool world to explore (granted, it is mostly just the wow universe).

however, over time this game just felt more and more like a job than an actual game i played for fun. as a f2p-only player, it took a really long time to grind to get just a single tier-one deck. god forbid the meta ends up being a control one, then all the decks are at least 2x as expensive.

i could see myself coming back to this game one day but i hope i don't. as it is, the game requires free users to grind daily to be able to keep up with the game, yet the skill ceiling is relatively low. sure, rng is fun. but a game can't simultaneously be competitive and have lots of rng. at that point, why am i grinding to be good at rolling a dice?
