Dude oh my GOD this game. dude oh my GOOODDD this GAME. DUUUDDE

Around the time I first got this game I was waiting for it to release since LATE 2020. I played the Sage 2019 build and was INSTANTLY hooked by me replaying the first level after getting a big fat D rank on my first try.

Almost every aspect of Pizza Tower’s final release blends together perfectly in my eyes. It’s a smooth game fundamentally, with a greasy artstyle on top. The contrast of both aspects makes the game even more of a joy to master. You see such rare occurrences of people recreating art styles similar to such cartoons as Ren and Stimpy or Courage the Cowardly Dog it feels like even trying to get a hold on Peppino Spaghetti, the games titular protagonist, feel like walking untread land.
Peppino’s moveset is silky smooth and as easy to stretch towards the limits as a good pizza. It’s almost got the same feelings once you really take a bite, unending satisfaction to destroying anyone in your way at light speeds, just to maintain that combo and get a rank above the stacks of previous attempts. It’s a tough mold you’d need to form cracks in to become a TRUE angry Italian, and maybe by extent as the Steam page implies: the Pizza tower itself!

Every level is beautifully crafted to the point where if I picked apart each and every one this review would take ages. The bosses are tough at first, but as the game goes on, you’ll see both figuratively and literally they’ll be cowering in fear seeing your fists to their face before impact, and by the very last boss, the whole Tower will be screaming for someone to get it away from you. Peppino is a walking anxious powerhouse, well versed in the way of the Italian.

And after running though all that, the third boss of the game, The Noise; grabs his camera and anticipatedly films a movie taking all the credit from your pain and strife.

If you had trouble getting used to Peppino, The Noise could just outright take your keyboard entirely! Being a smug, self absorbed “The Noid” parody, He’s got no care for you struggling; at this point he’d assume you’d get the hang of it instantly and let him do his skateboard tricks in peace. But once you get a grasp of The Noise, nothing on earth can stop you. He’s more of a speeding train instead of Peppino’s swift powerhouse feel. No gimmick from the ones provided literally every level could even get in his way: Nothing’s louder than The Noise. Going through bosses is even easier, for Peppino’s 8 shots to one hit ratio becomes two bombs to The Vigilante, and by extent, Pizzaheads face a clean hit. The entire noise NG+ campaign is almost somehow even more fun than Peppino darting though levels to get it all over with.

Personality oozes out of this game at limit breaking levels. From the absolute entity of energy the Pizza Tower Original Soundtrack is, featuring amazing work from ClascyJitto, Mr. Sauceman, and POST ELVIS, to the side characters such as Mr. Stick, Gustavo and Brick, and Snotty, to the secret rooms with trippy remixes of the original level compositions, and by extent the secret rooms in the hub world featuring experiences such as watching an unenthusiastic meatball roll around the screen, or taking a visit to Noisette Cafe, Pizza Tower is a game that never, EVER can get boring.

in conclusion, 10/10 really good game you should play it sometime
