Yeah it's buggy
Yeah, it's story is mostly a mess, that you can predict the ending of in the first 3-4 hours.
But the world is really cool. The saloon is fun, and a great place to see the commentary on your ongoing playthrough (it kinda reminded me of intermissions in starcraft 2, where you got to speak with a lot of the characters. Speaking of characters - they are pretty fun! The old crew is back, and the new additions are welcome as well.
The gameplay is improved, the new stances are great (i love the shooty-tooty), and the 3d platforming sections flow much better this time.
I'd say that the setup for an ending this time was a bit worse, comparing to the first game, but I had fun all the way through.

pretty solid as far as writing goes; characters are really charming and i think it's a neat little microcosm of what fallout as a series (that is to say, the proper trilogy of 1/2/NV) has always been trying to say. atmosphere is fantastic especially in the first half, they do a pretty impressive job of turning new vegas into a solid enough survival horror.

shit takes a harsh downturn once you get into the casino though; the puzzle-centric gameplay is really just one railroad after another of frustrating puzzles that aren't helped by the engine clearly not being predisposed towards that sort of gameplay... especially since one of the most clever ludonarrative tricks is so easily cheesed and bypassed

this log is for the Hitman (2016) content as played through Hitman 3. i know some gameplay changes were made for legacy content in the later games but i don't care, i'm not factoring levels from this game into my logs for either of the sequels because that's dumb. <3

not sure how it felt at release with the episodic format but playing this today i found myself completely obsessed with it as a full package in terms of content and replay value. six maps doesn't look like a ton but factoring in the various challenges and mission stories within the story portions on top of stuff like the escalations, there's so much to do. i don't envy people who like to completely 100% things as even just reaching level 20 mastery in each map feels gargantuan at times.

some of the levels might be a bit worse (or in the case of Colorado a lot lmao) than others but the highs are so high when it comes to map design it barely registers. which is on top of how much of a joy this was to play in terms of core gameplay.

for fun, here's how i'd rank the levels:

Sapienza
Paris
Hokkaido
Bangkok
Marrakesh
Colorado

Played with a group of friends in sporadic, intense bursts since release. My first exposure to Paradox games, and have been a happy convert ever since given I had exhausted my love affair with Civilization and other 4X games. The high space opera concept and setting of Stellaris is my favorite of Paradox's catalog, but it easily remains the virtuoso studio's most incomplete and unbalanced game.
