It was about 7 years after this game's release when I finally played it. I remember there being a lot of backlash when it came out due to it not being a real WarioWare title, and to be fair, it really isn't. But I think it might be something better.

Game & Wario feels more like Nintendo Land than WarioWare, and I love me some Nintendo Land. It's got a bunch of single-player modes that you play one round/level of at a time; It's got asymmetrical gameplay in zany Multiplayer modes (Sketch and Islands are highlights); You get coins/tokens from playing the main game that you can redeem for side novelties; It integrates the gamepad HEAVILY, etc.

It's a LOT like Nintendo Land, and I think that realization is the key to enjoying the game. If you're looking for WarioWare, this ain't it. But if you want a great game on an under-loved system that you can play with family or friends of any age, Game & Wario really deserves a closer look.
