A fantastic game by all means, but not the greatest Mario Kart game for racing (there's no way it's not MK8D), no matter how many dads my age try to tell you that. However! The Battle Mode is where it's at. We have never had better battle maps than Block Fort or Double Deck, and the slower movement in MK64's Battle Mode favors tension over the frantic zaniness of subsequent Mario Kart titles.
