Giving a star was really difficult.

I love the 2D/3D graphics and the overall atmosphere of the game. It's a really nice cosy little game to play in-between big complex games. I enjoyed the story very much. But...

These damn annoying and really boring side quests.. running the same paths over and over again, just to fetch some stupid rocks or wood.. several times I tended to abandon the game. But I wanted to know how the story pans out..

The overall difficulty is way too easy. But I guess it's meant to be a cosy game..

All in all: no "must play", but neat little in-between game.

Revives memories of the old DK country games on SNES. Really nice graphics and level design. Lore and rocket levels are the best - as always. Sadly I never could quite get used to the DK handling. The controls always felt a little off. Not Grapping ropes, rolling when I wanted to drum and vice versa happened regularly..
I am not sure if it's my rusty 2d platform skills or if this game is really hard / could be a little more forgiving.. the last boss for example took me something around 50 tries. The patterns are clear and not that hard, but one badly timed roll and your done.
However I couldn't lay the game down and had to stay with it until beaten.
