This was a huge disappointment... I don't get why they decided to end it like that, you don't get a choice as to whether Clementine lives or dies, or even something else that isn't so black and white. But instead... they bait you into thinking she died because she was bitten (in a really dumb fucking way that makes ZERO sense) and then surprise, she's alive... somehow?? Even though she definitely should've turned by the game's logic, it's honestly offensive considering they could've done at least 2 endings and not have to worry about continuing those endings into another season since this is definitively the last one. It really just made me not care about the rest of the episode as soon as the bite happened because I saw it coming 10 minutes before it even fucking happened.

I also feel like this season was heading in a good direction regarding choices, when I finished the first episode (which was by far the best one) it was introducing a lot of new ways that choices COULD affect AJ, like how small dialogue options finally mattered and could change him and his behaviour, but they don't; not really anyways which sucks because the first episode made it out to be like they did, but I guess I shouldn't expect much from Telltale at this point when they pump out these games nonstop with almost no effort put into the choice aspect; which is literally the whole reason most people buy them in the first place.

I know this is an older review, but I'm confused at what you're saying. How does the way Clem got bit make "no sense"? She was injured, and slowly climbing a wall with walkers right behind her, there was little chance she wouldn't get bit. And it's been established before that amputating a limb fast enough can stop someone from turning - it didn't work with Lee because they waited too long (I imagine because his bite was on the arm, too, closer to the brain), but it was established in season 2 that it does work. The whole point of this was that Clementine doesn't know everything and that AJ is capable of making the right moves, and he knew the right move was to amputate her foot.

@electrode Yeah when I wrote this I don't think I considered the fact that her bite was on her leg—like you said with the whole "it's further from her brain" thing, and I think I might be misremembering but I swear AJ waited a REALLY long time before amputating Clementine's leg to the point where I found it a bit ridiculous; so it's a combination of those two things that made me say that. But idk, my thoughts would most likely change on a replay.

It's kind of unclear how long it takes becore it's irreversible, but Lee wasted a lot of time. He spent time talking with his group, then went all the way to the sewer morgue, then passed out, and only then can you try amputation. Clem didn't get bit till climbing that wall. Couldn't have been more than 20ish minutes to get to the barn, then another 10ish minutes before taking her foot off, so I think there was definitely enough time. I get it though, it's vague and it is done to make you think she's dead either way.

@electrode That's a good point. I think I've let the show influence my opinion on that a bit, since they always amputate the minute someone gets bit no matter where it's located (except during rare cases). Sometimes I gotta remember those two universes share different rules. But yeah I totally hear you, this review stinks I ain't gonna lie; didn't think about it all.
