A genuinely masterful follow-up to an already genius title. Almost every boss was an absolute blast to fight; Midra, Bayle, Messmer, Rellana, only to name a few. I adored the exploration here, there is nothing like stumbling upon a massive and unique area filled with mystery just because you took a slight detour from where you were going. Like the base-game, the feeling of exploring new areas reminds me a lot of Shadow of the Colossus. It makes you wonder what these imposing structures were used for, and the people who lived there. If you pay attention to item descriptions or context clues you may even get a hint to your answer. The dungeons are a bit less common but i found them all really fun compared to the base game and i hope this is the standard they go by if they do more in this series! It is very hard to think of much wrong with this DLC, bar from the underwhelming and boring final boss. Radahn unfortunately takes the score down by a star for me. I felt the build up to this finale felt so grand and exciting, yet, upon the reveal of the final boss, I was very disappointed. Partly because of the twist, partly because the fight itself is not super fun. It is not a difficulty problem, just the fight itself. I may revise my thoughts as time goes on. I am very excited for the lore discussion over the next few months!!
