So let’s address the elephant in the room.

If you’re looking for a style savvy game where you run a boutique and enter in fashion competitions, do not buy this game.

This is NOT a style savvy game. Even though it’s by the same company, it’s not even a spiritual successor. It’s a completely different game.

This is essentially a dress up game. You go around and dress up npcs, dress up yourself, and try to collect fabrics and patterns to make clothes. I’ll say this again: this is a DRESS UP GAME. Do not think you’ll own a boutique! I think that’s where a lot of the bad reviews come from is from people who liked the style savvy games. You may find yourself bored at times. All you do is run around and collect clothes. There is no “money” per se. Only points that you collect from dressing up npcs.

I like to think it takes place in a post scarcity world where we look at people and copy their outfits. I guess that’s neither here nor there.

I have it four stars because to me it’s the best mindless entertainment when I have to wake up, commute to a job, and do mind numbing work at said job. It’s a game that requires no brainpower so I can just flip it on, play it for 10 minutes and shut it off.

That said I can see why so many people don’t like it. There are no quests, no story, no competitions, no money management, it’s a sandbox. On online mode there’s little tasks to do so you get extra items but that’s the only form of “gameplay” in this game.

I have said it a lot because I want people to know what they’re getting with this game.

Do I recommend it? If you’re like me and you just want to play dress up on your lunch break then sure. If you actually want to play a fashion game then skip this one. I’ve heard wonderful things about Model Debut 3 but it’s Japanese only. There’s also the style savvy games.

Is it worth $50?

Prolly not. It is just a dress up game. I think online mode is where it shines. And there are a lot of updates so new outfits are added. I do hope they’ll add more quests and more things to do but I just don’t think it’s that kind of game.

Atlus made the best Otome game ever and acts like it didn’t fucking happen
