Honestly nearly on par with the 3rd game. Mechanic wise it's a touch slower and the roster is somewhat smaller.
But it has a lot of advantages. The story mode is way better, even though I'm not a fan of the open world map being kinda small. On paper it's awesome to fly around but there isn't much to do.
Also the soundtrack is total killer.

As a sequel, this does everything you could ask for. From more characters, new mechanics, an expanded story and more, this is a step up from the original in every single way. Especially on the Wii, where more content was added for this console specifically. With that said, the forced motion controls were a bit weird to utilize, and the gameplay will still not be everyone's cup of tea. It is at a point where I can recommend this game to people now, which is a lot for anime-fighting games.
