this game was fairly interesting at the start i thought it looked pretty and it seemed promising but after a while the game became incredibly boring and repetitive. the world is procedurally generated and its trying to do what minecraft does but it doesn't work at all. after my 20th 5 minute walk to the desert biome it became clear the entire world is barren with the occasional broken down house that has loot thats useless past 5 minutes of playtime. the entire world is non-interactive meaning if you want to change any of the landscape you'd have to generate a whole new world and the only "creativity" you have is what you make with the extremely limited builder. the entire gameplay loop is just you getting different resources to upgrade your tools to be able to access the resources youll need to upgrade it again after that. like minecraft you'll spend a lot of time in caves but unlike minecraft caves spawn with just an entrance that just teleports you to a cave enviornment. the worst part is that the caves can just run dry if you spend too much time in them and because the world is non interactive if you want to find another cave you better go and walk for multiple minutes and pray you find one instead of just mining your own cave. i didnt feel any incentive to build anything beyond me and my townsfolks house as well as my workshop for all the stations in the game because as mentioned, the builder is very limited and extremely frustrating to use. my first and only playthrough was near the launch of the game so these may have been fixed but the game was littered with bugs. i get its a free game and they have to make money somehow but now epic is selling building parts in the item shop so i think its safe to say this "game" is pretty bad.
