"Momodora II is the second installment in the Momodora series. This sequel is much more polished and improved in every aspect. It also abandoned the previous arcade-like progression for a more explorational gameplay. Cover artwork was drawn by Temmie Chang"

A big upgrade of the first iteration of the momodora series! The lack of excessive buttons makes the controls more palatable. The exploration is more fun, and there's some decent bosses.

It's cool to see how the basic building blocks of the later games were already present here. Sure, it's a very rudimentary platformer with keyboard controls, little story and sometimes somewhat clunky gameplay. But you can really tell how much love went into it. A lot of work has gone into the graphics, the music and the characters. The game is also completely free. A fan of the sequels should give it a try.

NOW we're cooking with baby powder, my friend. so much better than the first game. don't have too much else to say about it. it's crazy how much the simple addition of some air momentum makes the platforming feel leagues better than 1. i like the metroidvania elements, and i'm hopeful for the quality of future entries to only go up from here.

short and sweet with a nice look and sound. i think this one is the one in the franchise where it starts to settle into having its own personality, lore and detach itself a bit from its inspirations; not to say its not somewhat derivative but its derivative in that way that makes it fun to look at the things you can recognize its taking inspiration from and it differentiates itself enough to be its own thing.
i will say the soundtrack of the first game is, in my opinion, better, but for everything else Momodora 2 is just the better game. one of those sequels that just does more and does that "more" better.
