it’s destiny that we met, it’s a thrill i was looking for

still the best drift in video game history. I love heart attack mode more than anything. Coast 2 Coast is great, but the actual cab is just perfection. My driving game holy grail.

Tons of fun on the original arcade machine. The splitting level layout adds a ton of replay value and I actually managed to reach the goal in one of the game modes.

Found out a local arcade had this machine and rushed over as soon as I could. Took a minute to get the hang of the drifting with the gear shift, but it felt and looked great. I can't wait to get back and play it some more. The closest thing I’ve ever had to a religious experience.

the arcade version doesn't have as much content as coast 2 coast, but the graphical flourishes make me love it more. when you complete route D the camera does the cool akira bike slide thing where you powerslide to a stop and the rocket in the background shoots sparks and particle effects everywhere that are so bright that you can't see your times until the ship has finished blasting off. it is my favorite game over screen of all time.

thought i'd just do a few runs and be done with it but i'm at more than two dozen now and feel like nothing can stop me
