One of the most detailed games ever. Playing it and witnessing all that detail in every aspect is extremely impressive but as a game I found it lacking and repetitive in many aspects. There are also huge pacing issues especially towards the end. Other than that this is probably my favorite direct narrative ever in a game. Every character feels so real and fully realized so when tensions get high, playing without popcorn is basically impossible.
Some interesting gameplay additions but ultimately it goes on for way too long and feels too repetitive. The original game feels very unique the entire way through because it's short and sweet and expanding on it takes some of that away.
An absolutely incredible game held back by some content that is either just mediocre or straight up bad. On my second playthrough I was able to overlook a lot of the stuff I didn't like and I absolutely love this game. The world is so incredible and unique and the combat feels so tight and nimble. Not my favourite Souls game but it's close.
