It feels really weird giving this five stars but in all honesty, I don't see any reason not to. This was the first time I played Picross since I was a small child and the game is so forgiving and comes with so many 'booster seat' features that make the game so much more relaxing to get into as a newbie like me. One of them is this little roulette at the start of each level you can opt in or out of on a per level basis that clears one row and one column before it even lets you touch the board. There's also a little autocorrect feature that erases any put in the wrong spot. That sounds really pathetic and easy to cheese, especially since it doesn't effect your time or anything (and there's no scores here, which tbh I don't even know if Picross games have scores but this one doesn't) but since I'm a grown ass man with an almost fully developed brain, I have the resolve to not just spam all the squares to win and instead use those little nudges to inform my next move.

I used to hate Picross as a kid because it just didn't make any sense to me, and honestly, it only makes sense 80% of the time, but that's still 80% more than it used to.

It's Picross... With Sanrio characters. This is what you call a perfect video game.

Licensed Picross crossovers are far from uncommon, with Jupiter seemingly alternating between a licensed game and a new Picross S game every few months.

The Sanrio one is probably my favourite in terms of presentation and theming - even if the puzzles are by and large a tad easier than the fare offered in the main Picross titles. It’s an understandable compromise, as Sanrio Characters appeal to a wide enough range of people that I can see this being somebody’s first introduction to Picross.
