A port of SimCity

SimCity (SNES) was originally released in Japan in April 1991, the first console game in the SimCity series, and one of the launch titles for the Super Famicom/Super Nintendo Entertainment System in North America when the console was released there in August the same year. It was developed by Nintendo EAD under license from Maxis and published by Nintendo. It has some differences from the original game, among them is the presence of an original Nintendo character called "Dr. Wright". There are also unlockables based on Nintendo franchises such as Mario.

I can't speak to other versions of the game, but Sim City on SNES is the classic city-builder game that somehow managed to get squeezed onto a SNES cartridge. I haven't played other versions of the game to know what compromises were made, but the end result is a playable city-builder with just the right amount of depth.

The standout feature, to me, is the music. It changes as your city grows, and provides a lot of atmosphere to the game.

SimCity on SNES is a nostalgic city-building classic! Sure, it's definitely showing its age compared to modern entries – the graphics are simple and the simulation is less complex. But there's something charming about figuring out zoning, managing your budget, and dealing with the occasional monster attack. It might be a bit too basic for hardcore sim fans nowadays, but if you're craving that old-school SimCity experience or just want a relaxing trip down memory lane, it still holds up.

Bought this yesterday (I may be four decades late but shh) and it's really fun! It has all of the ingredients for a fun city building game. It's full of charm with Dr. Wright and fun disasters.
Starting a city is such a fun process and surprisingly simple, although it took me a few minutes to understand how electricity works. It's simple, of course, yet it's an impressive game for the SNES!

Really fun game, I refuse to play any newer sim city game or similar since this one has the level of complexity I want.

Solid tunes, too.

i still don't know how to play sim city but i like this game for having the most peaceful music ever.

Not the best version of Sim City, but I love it anyway.
