While it obviously didn't contain many of the stereotypical types of gameplay people expected out of games in 1989, it managed to create an open-ended sandbox for people to create their own objectives and just play with the software itself. Not only that, but it was relatively easy to pick up and learn the basics of city building in such a way that you were always wanting to work on that next section, build that next building, connect a new road, etc. A very fun and different game that went on to heavily influence an entire genre to this day.

The OG, played enough of it to know that these city builder sims are not really for me, but I can recognize that it's a great game and still holds up.

Used to be way more into these city builders as a kid, loved the natural disasters

1989...
This game taught me that i shouldnt become a City Planner

playing this game for the first time in 2023 is tough but i see the vision

As a kid, I misunderstood what the game was telling me and accidentally did well.
