Tokyo Beat Down has the most effort I've ever seen a beat em up put on its story compared to its gameplay.
Which sadly means the gameplay sucks for anyone who isn't a classic beat em up addict so I'm not ever finishing this.

One of the best games on the DS.

A sluggish, mediocre beat-'em-up propped up by its enjoyably loose localization, "Tokyo Vice City" fashions, and adventure-game structure; which allows you to do some talking, fetch-questing, and upgrading between stages.

Dawg, Lewis is so slick, but fuck me this sucks

I gave 1 point more for Lewis cannon

Tokyo Beat Down is more or less a classic beat em up. There's a bit of an 80s look for the Japanese police, a firearm here and there and burgers as medikits. Also, our character is very slow and ponderous. The stories always play out the same way. We are called to a mission, fight through enemies that always look the same, and then the next mission comes along.
