When I was 11 years old, I made some friends on a Minecraft plots server. We would build random stuff together and share our dumb kid feelings. One of these friends claimed to be a girl who was 14 years old. My attachment to them deepened over summer break when I spent most of my free time hanging out with them online. They would lament about how they wished they had horses on their plot (spawning them in was prohibited or something). I found another plot, like 1000 blocks away, whose owners had managed to spawn some. There were restrictions in place to prevent stealing, but I somehow managed to get a lead on them and nudge them out. I spent like 2 hours nudging these horses all the way to my friend's plot and was so excited for what their reaction would be when they next logged in and saw what I'd done. The horses were despawned before they ever got to see them.

I had to say goodbye for a week as I was going away for vacation with my family and couldn't bring my laptop. I guess absence really does make the heart grow fonder, because over this week, I somehow convinced myself that I was in love with this girl who I had only ever communicated with through text chat. My whole vacation, I was lost in romantic daydreams about how I would confess to her when I got back. I came up with a poem that I would give her; it went something like this: Rubys are red, sapphires are blue, gemstones are beautiful, but not as beautiful as you. I wrote this in a book item and handed it to her in game. I don't really remember what her reaction was, but she said something obligatory like "thank you" or "you're so kind" and didn't really talk to me much after that. A couple weeks later, I found out that she was e-dating some other rando on the server. I griefed her plot, and she banned me from it.

That was the first and only time I've confessed romantic feelings to someone.
