undoubtedly a great creation, with nothing to work towards except what you wish for. sadly, i dont wish for much after making a cute enough house, at which point rolling the credits would be rather unsatisfying so perhaps not my thing
A truly unique sandbox game suited for everyone, from artists to adventurers. The recent updates may not have been great, but old versions are always playable and combined with community servers and/or mods this could be the one game I'd play for the rest of my life.
Honestly 5 stars just for the built-in ability to go back to older versions of the game, it's crazy other long-running games don't do that!
Always been more into the cave spelunking than building, but it's a testament that even when you've got a digging system down it's still intense whenever the monsters show up.

you can't go wrong with a good game of minecraft. undoubtedly better with friends. the updates mojang drops bore me, but they dont change the baseline of the game. as long as you can build a house and get a dog, it's gonna be good.

I like the amount of creativity this game allows for. I just wish it wasn't such a ballache to maintain. It gets to a point where you struggle more with the inventory than you do enemies. Sure, you can mod it to fix it, but that doesn't make the actual base game better now does it.
Still, it's as popular as it is for a reason and I don't disagree with the reason, it just has issues that prevent me from fully enjoying it as much as other games.

I struggle to find words to say about this game because everything has already been said. No other game sucks me in and deletes my free time like Minecraft. The atmosphere and immaculate sound design and musical score are unmatched. Every single sound, every single click of the menu, every hauntingly beautiful song that creeps in when you least expect it, it's all iconic. For a game that people like to claim, "Has no content,", it has a remarkable amount of things to do and goals to set and accomplish. Does Minecraft have issues? Yeah, every game does, but no other game makes me feel like Minecraft does.

The new updates are way too much. But come on, it's a classic. It's everybody's childhood. I remember, just as everybody does, building square houses out of diamond blocks and trying to create an Aether portal. Some of my fondest childhood memories. I remember playing with my friends on our multiplayer server for hours during lockdown. With the ever-increasing number of updates, I'll probably shelf this game for good. But it will forever hold a special place in my heart.

Loved this game as a kid. I feel that it has lost some of the simplistic charm it had with all the updates.
My only real experience playing Minecraft was when I was 14 and played a cracked version I had downloaded onto my grandmother’s laptop, and to this day it’s still some of the fondest memories I have of playing a video game.

Despite the game not being in such good hands these days it's still extremely influential and probably the best example of how an indie game can absolutely demolish most modern triple A games.
