I got 82% through 100%ing and my character select locked in freeplay. With no way to fix it (I've googled to death and apparently this is common). Up until that point I was really between 2 1/2 to 3 stars. Gameplay is pretty standard once you've finished a single movie's story and a lot of it feels like collecting for collectors sake. And I would say fair and good enough for completionists but the bugs across the game are so bad it actively fights you from wanting to play it. The character lock is far from the only issue I ran into. Just incredibly upsetting.

Disappointing. Characters arent that unique anymore as they are mostly shoved into cookie cutter classes that make them mostly similar with only a few special ones here and there. Nobody feels special. In the older games... Every hero feels the same. Every jedi feels the same. The older games had some of this but its not as egregious with how the games are designed. The puzzles are extremely handholdy and simple. Too much even comparing it with the originals which did some of it too. The levels can be very underwhelming. Some are amazing then you have the gameplay in the hubs that substitutes for actual levels. I'm all for the idea however many major segments are relegated to unreplayable open world segments which are fun for a bit then before you know it its over and you start to wish it was a full level. game is still good fun especially with a friend or sibling and it may just be nostalgia but i like the original Lego Star Wars games more.
