Compared to the previous game, uh, yeah, this game is definitely a lot less... Weird feeling to try and go back to. Probably because it focuses more on being topical with the time than being "edgy" to some extent. In some ways, it's definitely still not excellent--y'know, it turns out nobody's thought about Jack Thompson blaming video games for school shootings in a serious capacity since at least 2014--but it definitely stands to make it a bit more bearable in retrospective. But then, well, for every "this could be worse" level, the game up and prints "SARAH PALIN: the game" or namedropps digg, and you have to kinda grin and bear it. (Hilariously, the level literally based on late 2000s/early 2010s memes isn't the most obviously dated level in this video game.)

In stark contrast to last time, wow, there's a more-than-one quantity of levels we think have jokes that are funny even in retrospect! As in... Two of them. The Hamlet level kinda sweeps just because the CSi bit is a little less dated/more forgivable (also the absolute escalation of the sunglasses in particular fucking slays us ngl, like, S-tier bit there, probably the funniest visual goof in the entire trilogy) and Epicroll is so comically dated that it's at least a LITTLE charming for it.

In short: It sure is the middle game in the :the game: saga. This could be better, but fuck, you could be worse off.
