I liked some changes, but the loss of the two screens is a big hit to the game. The story is the same and it's what outshines everything else (that is still awesome) so it's no biggie. If you can't play on the DS, this remake is a watered down version of the original, go for it!

The story and characters are all great. Loved the setting and vibe of the game. Combat could be a little frustrating at times. A good RPG ported very well for mobile.

amazing game with amazing story and characters
An action RPG oozing with creativity, ingenuity and heart. Even taking into account what was removed from the DS version, the battle system remains unique and fun, with an "easy to learn, hard to master" approach. The story is not like the average JRPG, forgoing the "kill god" plot for a more stylish yet surreal tale about making connections with others and changing for the better. Wrap it up with awesome character designs, fantastic music and a stylish presentation and it makes me wonder why I didn't experience this sooner.

enhanced visuals and ost are enough to make it better than the original, but the touchscreen gameplay is hit or miss compared to the original
Fuck you Square Enix for delisting this gem and making it basically unaccessible on any device that has at least Android 11.
my favorite game of all time, i absolutely loved everything about it. the gameplay and the combat are unlike anything else, i can say the same about the story too.

An absolute masterpiece in the story telling departement and while it's main goal is to tell the story of the protagonist it still manages to make the side characters great and extremely relatable with things like feeling inferior to someone, gameplay could a bit wonky sometimes but overall it's great
A underrated gem with its own style, and also one of my favorite OSTs of all time. There's really nothing like it, highly recommend.
It's a solid port. The sacrifices made to crunch it into one screen trivialized the difficulty, but the HD graphics and music alongside song changes during cutscenes make it worthwhile.
