Was one of my most played games ever, and it held that title firmly for years. Countless hours of fun ranging from having a smoothie stand that would secretly print money in darkrp to earning fake ranks after climbing up into a tree and sniping people in militaryrp. On top of that just sandbox alone held most of my hours, countless mods and countless possibilities. However I don't see myself adding to the hour count anytime soon, this game has ran its course.
Developed originally by Garry Newmen as a mod for Half Life 2 utilising the brand new at the time physics based source engine. Garry's Mod marks an important part in gaming history for it allowed gamers to easly play, create and upload content they made to a digital workshop and share it with other people around the world. The sandbox mode is one of the best to ever be included in a video game with endless community made content to pick and choose from. On top of that Incredibly famous gamemodes either originated or were made popular by Garry's Mod such as Prop Hunt, Death Run, and Trouble in Terrorist town. To me atleast Garry's mod feels more akin to a Game creator then a game itself. And although the source engine shows its age with technical limitations like world size and performance issues with massive amounts of props it's still Definitely worth picking up today for some fun sandbox shenanigans with friends.
