It's fine and I like the part where you do the grappling hook cuz I like grappling hooks, and the part where you have to use special abilities to go into certain places. That part's okay. The part that I like the most is that you can drive cars and destroy them.

the ONE reason i cant say ACAB...

definitely was not designed for co op. U do a mission and ur friend just kinda gotta follow u. I liked this game better when i watched the blitzwinger playthru episode by episode every week after my swimming class cus i didnt have a wii u.

I've always been tolerant of the Lego games, they seemed to dominate the (Non-Mario) platformer genre for a while just by being competent, humorous games for all ages. As in, ALL AGES.

However, Lego City Undercover will always hold a special place as one of my favorite games ever. 10-year-old me was doubled over with cramps from laughing at just the first cutscene, and the game never stopped impressing me, even now I can barely remember all the characters and plot points.

This is really one of the funniest games I can think of, and probably has more fun crime movie references and things to do driving around its world than its 2013 counterpart GTA V. The latter game of course more cynical and grounded but nowhere near as fun or carefree. One of these days I'll 100% it and relive all the fun I had as a kid through all of its great chapters, from the dock to the dojo to the prison to the ice cream shop to the museum to the space station to... well I don't wish to spoil it, but the final confrontation between Chase McCain and Rex Fury.

3/5 Mid.

Live out every cop's fantasy of shooting everyone with no repercussions and still being the hero

? the best lego game for some reason?

the audio balancing was poor at times and there was a part where I literally had to reset the whole level but besides that this is one of the best Lego games just as I always heard from others. Also the soundtrack was surprisingly amazing????

Basically Lego GTA, and I really loved it. Not only felt the world super huge, the story was a joy too! The humour was truly delightful. Bought this game a second time, on Switch.

Man I always see posts n shit saying we need a GTA where you play as a cop an like they really never experienced the peak that is this game and that make some sad like this game really is babys first GTA and I mean that in the best way possible like this really the best open world Lego game and it's never acknowledged ever like this game need more universal love and respect man I'm glad I grew up on it fr like you got me playing as a cop and not complaining that's how good Legos games are so I'm not surprised and this game changes the normal lego formula too by having costumes instead of different characters n shit like it's such a cool system man but yeah replaying this game on a PS4 now as a movie nerd I fucking adore how this game is just movies and tv references the game like holy shit man I needa beat this again soon but like gigs amirite one day for sure tho prob soon since my depression has been calling me towards this game like a siren fr 10/10

Who else only knows about Shawshank Redemption because of this?

Most Lego games feel like repeats of the previous entry with a different theme. LEGO City Undercover is not only the first original game in the series, but it's the first game to actually feel like a new game. That being said, it's still lacking in comparison to other AAA open world titles. Some of this game's errors can be excused due to its toy-like nature such as the floaty driving, but it has many faults in the main campaign. This game's idea of variety is the same shallow mechanics again and again. The disguise system is a cool feature, allowing players to swap between any character in the game, but the game relies too heavily on it. It isn't a good foundation, and as a result the gameplay suffers. The usual monotony is broken up by driving sections and cutscenes, which pushed me to finish to the end. Speaking of cutscenes, the real winner of this game is surprisingly the story and soundtrack. The characters are uniquely interesting, and Chase McCain serves as a great protagonist. It has wit, charm, and is frequently funny even with a few jokes deliberately aimed at children. The story follows Chase trying to get his redemption at policework after a mishap a few years ago. He then must go undercover as he infiltrates mobs in order to get intel about the supposed villain, Rex Fury. What's cool is how the story takes its time to set the pieces and introduce new plot points before knocking it down. The soundtrack really shocked me with its various songs that mesh well into what's happening on screen. It has this song for the final part that I'm not gonna spoil, but god damn. LEGO City is pretty dense with a variety of scenery all while still feeling like the same game due to great graphical consistency. The same strategy from the main story is applied here, but this time with much better execution. There are 450 collectables not counting characters, vehicles, and extras. The things you can do aren't very wild, but it's the way the game cycles through them that makes it entertaining. You won't walk 10 steps without bumping into a new minigame or unlockable for you to do. It is worth mentioning that the open world can be pretty restrictive at times, especially in helicopters. LEGO City is probably TT's finest work period. It isn't the most in depth, showstopping game, but if you're looking for an experimental open world game, you can't go wrong with this shockingly good title.

LEGO games and open world settings seem like a match made in heaven... and that's absolutely the case. Out of all the LEGO games I've played (including those when I was in the target audience) this was by far the most engaging. GTA meets the collectathon and puzzle-solving elements of the LEGO series. Just 2 non-gameplay complaints stop this from being perfect in my eyes:

1) I understand that this is a kids game, so you've got to keep everything lighthearted, but a lot of good storybeats are ruined by pointless gags and cheap laughs when they could've made certain parts pretty epic or poignant. Although most of the time it's fine, at the most tense moments it's such an act of self-sabotage as the plot while not remarkable could've been something say more gripping than it ends up being.

2) I understand that this game tries to go for the whole "making fun of everyone equally" thing, but... the Asian characters come off as very poorly done. They all have names like "Ching" and "Ping" and the accents are uncomfortable, performed by someone who is clearly not Asian and just putting on what comes across as a potentially racist accent. Not really acceptable in my opinion and I cringed most of the time these characters were in screen. I wouldn't say these characters were acceptable in 2013, and certainly not by the time this game was re-released in 2017. An unfortunate blemish on what is otherwise a great game.

Sempre quis jogar esse jogo mas o começo é muito chato, jogo lego mid infezlimente

Best Lego game no contest no arguments. Silly goofy Lego fun inside a dope GTA like huge world map, millions of secrets and collectables.

Another memory I will never forget is sitting in the cart at target and my mom asking the associate if she could look in the back for this game. It was my birthday and i had been looking forward to it all year. Thanks Mom!

LEGO's take on the Grand Theft Auto formula. Not actually that bad. Since TT Games had previously mastered being able to create a vast overworld with LEGO Batman 2, it makes sense that they would utilize that again, this time with their own original world and characters. The story is nothing to write home about, but its pretty satisfactory for a family-oriented game. The cutscenes and dialogue continue to utilize that LEGO humor that you'd normally expect from one of their games, this time with references to various movies and TV shows. There are some issues, specifically with the nuisance that is traveling the open world to find optional Gold Bricks (a problem that would continue to affect future LEGO installments) and my personal distaste towards the more "animated" combat style. It's a good LEGO experience, keeping up with the charm that the previous games had, as well as the ones that came after it.

The most fun I've had with a TT's LEGO game so far. A sizeable map that is fun to explore, though the story nudges you along, so you can only truly explore it at your leisure after the game has been beaten. Still, there's a decent variety of stuff to do and great places to visit. The story is pretty good, the humor is also surprisingly good, there are some dumb kiddie jokes, but there are also plenty of clever moments that got a chuckle out of me. Some music tracks are great, but others tend to become repetitive, particularly in story levels, and the graphics are great. I did play the enhanced rerelease for multiple platforms, so I can't comment on how good it looked or performed on Wii U, but on PC, it looks great. The only issue, is some lengthy loading times, especially when launching the game the first time. There's still a decent amount of TTs LEGO games for me to play, but overall, so far I'd call this the best one.

Mon GTA d'enfance. Bien plus réaliste qu'on le croit puisque tu peux tabasser des gens sans que personne ne te fasse rien vu que t'es flic. Bonus pour le DLC ou le but est d'ignorer et de classer sans suite le plus possible de plainte de viole.

I was promised a Lego GTA game.....there was no GTA

Very fun, sadly no sex scenes with the legos.

This game saved my life.

I am 27.

My ex-wife and I have a daughter together, and adopted our son together. They are now both 4 years old.

When we were going through our separation, I found myself lost and miserable. I was self destructive. I got so mad one day from everything spiraling out of my control that I punched some concrete in a moment of overwhelming emotion. That caused me to break my 5th metacarpal in my right hand... my working hand... my games hand.. the hand that I held and carried my children to bed with.. The hand I desperately needed to make sure I could continue to provide.

After learning of the severity of my self-inflicted damage, I was borderline suicidal. Keep in mind that just a few months before this, I was the happiest man with no history of depression or anxiety. I have never had fits of rage, or been one to break down and cry, but I was in a low spot that just really buried me from being able to see the light on the other side.

Having nothing better to do, I searched for a game I could play, ONE HANDED while I recovered. I somehow stumbled upon this game and read some of the reviews. I decided that it had to be worth a shot... I must admit, I didn't beat the game, or play nearly as long as some of you. In fact, I may have only played this game a day or two.. With that being said, after doing so, I had a new found joy and hope for life. I was able to put behind me the pain and suffering that had been cast over me. I was able to experience other peoples joy and happiness. I was able to see the fruits of my "labor". I relaxed for 5 ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ minutes to this music long enough to realize that I was going to be okay.

After coming to that realization, I turned the game off, and I went back to work. It hurt my hand like hell but I was motivated. I stopped feeling so damn sorry for myself, and I became the father I needed to be in that moment, not the weak boy I was behaving as.

Today, I am close friend with my kids mother. We don't fight, or argue, or say hurtful things to each other. We are parents, and friends.

I now have 3 kids. My third child is, wait for it, ALSO 4 YEARS OLD. The woman I am with was going through a very similar situation at the time of my own separation, and we just stumbled in to each others life unexpectedly. We have been in a relationship for a year now, and are very happy together.

Moral of the story, you never know what life holds in store for you, and if I would have given up when all the odds were stacked against me, I wouldn't be where I am today. This silly little game helped me realize that.

Wow do i love this one. Lego games are a guilty pleasure of mine, the story is really good, you have that classic lego gameplay and a big open world. Yeah i just like this game
