A necessary part of it's companion piece, Basilisk 2000. Nothing too special on its own, but essential to fully experience of one of the most creative gaming experiences out there.

this shit horrifying a little bit

Basilisk is easily one of the most creative horror games I have played in recent time. The idea of this being a old, abandoned ROM of a SNES game is really smart, and the way they implement the Emulator into this game is great.

You can select from about 5 different locations, with one segment that plays the game for you. And it feels JUST like an old game you would find in the mid-90's. The atmosphere is by far the best part of this game, and at points it can get extremely disturbing with how it is presented.

Overall: 8/10

Liminal horror has been big the last few years and maybe someone smarter than me can write a thesis on why, but Basilisk does a wonderful job understanding what exactly "liminal" should be.

I'm gonna be thinking on this one for a bit...probably until I explore Basilisk 2000.
