I found it a little mediocre, but I guess it does the job, it also includes Persona 4 characters, so I bought it after needing a P4 dose

i don't trust half of the people that reviewed it in here, it's either le ez game or 'the gameplay is shit' with no elaboration

I love when really promising concepts gets butchered by the greediness of their "parent companies".

Imagine creating one of the most promising crossovers for a fighting game by taking the deep and great character from some amazing series of the Arcsys catalogue, and combine them in a balanced MUGEN like experience appealing for both veterans of the respective series, and more casual players....
Seems like a clear slam dunk. What could possibly go wrong-OH? What do you mean over half ot the cast is locked behind DLC for no reason? And not only that, but most of the "free" characters mostly uses quick reused assets from other Arksys titles and don't blend well together?

In my opinion, these factors alone drop the quality of the title immensely, from both veterans and casuals alike: casuals that will buy it because they are RWBY or Persona fans will immediately find out that literally half of the main cast for the respective series is locked behind a second paywall... while competitive players coming from Blazblue or Undernight will find their mains "desaturated" and with a big loss of moves and gameplay options in order to appeal to a more casual audience.

This could have been one of the best Arksys works, but the decisions surrounding its launch and the unbalanced amount of content available drags it down a lot.

Like, I am not even the biggest RWBY fan (I thought the show is kinda just okay at best), but how the heck you put those characters as one of the main selling point, only to not add the "Y" and the "B" or "RWBY" at launch?

Still an enjoyable fighting game with a decently fine combat system and presentation, but I am sorry to say that there are better crossover fighting games on the market.

shitass monetization on the worst arcsys fighter?!?! SIGN ME IN!!!

Solid idea, flawed execution + no Guilty Gear.

Well we beat up people from other worlds, we have 4 different storylines to follow (in the base game), and 4 game modes (episode mode, online mode, vs mode and survival mode), not counting with training mode. It offers you the possibility to record your own stuff too.

Other than that, I can pair up Yang and Blake to fight the enemies and that's all that matters #BumblebyCanon

This game is going to age like wine. All of the bonkers ass shit people say they want in tag fighters is here, if not turned up to 12. If you aren't a lab rat, you need not apply.

Like, don't tell me "oh wow, UMVC3 rollback when" and then turn around and say "buh buh buh this game has unblockables and TODs and Adachi exists". This game is a buckwild mess, and should be embraced as such.

Played in 2020 on Steam
Honestly, I bought it after beating Persona 4 Golden and Persona 4 Arena Ultimax wasn't available so this was the next best thing. I've never played any of the other fighting game represented so I can't speak on its quality as a Blazblue game, but if you like the characters and anime fighters, this is for you.

I bought it as I wanted an entry in my favorite fighting game series for my switch, but I ended up being pretty unsatisfied. The tag team battle system just isn't for me, and while I enjoyed seeing the other characters from other series, even if I didn't care much for them themselves, it felt clunky to play and learn.

thanks for introducing me to Gordeau. but I'm never touching you again.

uhm erm yeah it got rwby vs persona so that pretty epic gotta say

It's like if Central Fiction were bad, but it lets me hear the BB cast's peak English VAs again and has my daughter Heart Aino so I can't hate it too much.

I was so excited for this game when it came out and then it's just 90% DLC and a game system that's not even fun. Can't believe this game killed CF.

for the longest while this is the only way you could play p4au on pc but now that p4au is on pc (and kinda dead tbh) theres no other reason to play this apart from rwby characters lmao

I LOVE GAMES WHERE HALF THE CONTENT IS LOCKED BEHIND YET ANOTHER PAYWALL YIPPEE

like being waterboarded but you receiving some crazy top

So quick backstory on this game I had with, while I was getting into the Persona series with watching both the Persona 4 anime and playing P4G, I have seen this game being announced back in 2017, I was really interested on getting it for the Switch back then, but I didn't get into playing it that much often...

But fast forward to February of 2024, I decided that I wanted to try and play the game again on PC, and after finishing both Episode 1 (from the main base game) and Episode 2 (from the 2.0 update), I... actually really like this game, having to see characters from the games that Arc System Works developed/helped with and even including characters from RWBY interacting with each other is an absolute delight to see, my favourite chapter in the Extra Episode is definitely Chapter 7, I just love the sheer shock from both Yosuke and Yu is the main reason why I love both of their voice actors, Yuri Lowenthal and Johnny Yong Bosch so much!

And plus this game is where it got me into both BlazBlue and Under Night In-Birth, so I like to thank this game for doing just that.

But if I were to replace RWBY with another Arc System Works game, it would have to be Guilty Gear, I have nothing hateful towards RWBY at all, but honestly... I just felt that GG would've fit way better in the game itself.

could kirito in blazblue have saved arc system works?

Never got deep into it
Fighting game = 4.5 or lower

Yes, the big cross-over deal was the selling point for me as well. Disappointing that it was mostly recycling the sprites/assets from those fighting games. Or, to be more specific, mixing Blazblue, P4A and Under Night In-Birth in a blender.

A fun game nonetheless.

Blazblue, Persona 4 Arena, and now Under Night In-Birth are all available on Steam with Rollback. There is basically 0 reason to play this now.

It's a fun game that could be better. If you're a newcomer to fighting games in general this should be one of the first tag fighting games you play cuz its got really simple controls and mechanics but for people who have been playing fighting games for awhile or even years you notice that the controls feel WAY to simple and dumbed down which is something I'm not too big on (seriously a few of the moves are just pressing the same button for 3 or 4 times)
The roster for this game is strange but welcoming, I'm glad smaller fighters like Under Night and Akatsuki Blitzkampf have rep in this game but then you have RWBY and Senran? Senran I kinda understand but RWBY? (At least they make up for being there with their gameplay...) for one of the major 2D fighter crossovers we've had in awhile the roster is pretty mixed for me.
The single player content could be better... You have the standard story mode, versus, etc but no arcade mode? Which is an essential that most fighting games should have, other than that the single player content is fine.
Like I said its a fun game that could be better.

I'm terrible at fighting games but I've sunk a surprising amount of hours in this. its a real good time.
