Brief horror title done in a grainy PS1 visual style that gives a strong buildup mixed with a strange atmosphere as you interact with the locals but mechanically never really puts you in enough danger which starts to detract from the feeling of being under a current threat.
The main character finds dirty clothes around her apartment as her boyfriend hasn't done the laundry. Needing fresh clothes for a morning interview she finds the apartment's washer broken and is told about an old laundromat that is open 24 hours a day near the edge of town. She decides to take a bus there ignoring the warnings about a serial killer that has been targeting pregnant women. As your clothes wash and dry you are giving time to explore a small area where you can find clues about the past murders and area and talk to some local people often giving off a mixture of a strange or humorous vibe while maybe noticing the same car in the parking lot that you saw when you got on the bus by your apartment.
It's a good environment and visual style that does a lot right but you start to find yourself in situations where in most titles the killer would be stalking you and you would be in active danger and would need to sneak around but as you come to notice that you have no direct threat in these early sections it removes a lot of the possible tension.

A short game, shorter than I expected, but a scary one with a nice plot. It crashed a few times, especially when I tried the Arcade or the portable console games, for some reason. We have a few collectables and objects to interact with, so exploration is recommended, I loved that some of them are readable comic books. I love the visuals, I love games of PS1 graphics style, it does give a creepier vibe in horror games. I confess I got scared a few times, mostly from unexpected jumpscares and the sounds. The game had a few issues with the sound, sometimes it was too loud despite the settings, I hope it gets fixed eventually. Some character models looked funny, especially their faces, it reminded me of the first Max Payne game.
An atmospheric horror game that came out of nowhere. There's been a serial killer going crazy recently, but you NEED to get your laundry done at the local laundromat. During this time, you'll meet the store owners and shoppers at the local strip mall while your laundry is washing. You'll be reading newspapers and learning from conversations that something dark happened here, but it's up to you to find out what really happened.
For being a relatively short game (I clocked just under 2 hours), I've found myself thinking back in it quite a bit. Definitely recommend if you're into quick horror experiences that are still quite unsettling.

The 2nd chapter was okay. I had heard a lot about this game so I assumed it was pretty good, but it's not really. Instead it plays like an above average itch.io game. Parts of it don't really make sense and it crashed to desktop once. The audio controls don't work for all sound effects and random sounds will always be full volume.
Didn't really like.

This game game gives you a sandbox that is the strip mall, and gives you free reign to do what you want. There's a good number of things to do while you pass the time waiting on your laundry and you'll want to experience all you can during that time. A fun experience that you can beat all in one sitting.
If you're looking for straight scares over a very spooky setting and a well-crafted world, this one might be worth passing over for other Torture Star/Puppet Combo games, but what scares this game does have are really good.

Total grimy/warbled VHS analog-horror throwback with Goldeneye looking characters and a fun nightmarish setting to explore. Laundromats suck ass and I’m so happy I have a portable washing machine in my apartment and don’t need to go to my local one anymore!
This game relies on jumpscares heavily but it’s also good at just being creepy without them too. Definitely feel the hard R rated horror movie influence here, nasty stuff.
A very easy and quick Platinum too, for a couple bucks you get to experience a short little freaky time. It’s like an obscure horror movie you rented from the video store back in the 90s fused with a crappy low budget PC game you found in a bargain bin. Cool shit

Fantastic at making the mundane feel terrifying even before anything even happens, with those constant walks across the car park being especially chilling despite nothing happening. The mere act of existing and feeling so vulnerable as you're just exploring the plaza to pass the time being absolutely chilling is a great move in effectively replicating the general sense of anxiety that one can very easily have when walking anywhere alone at night and ended up making for a great bit of atmosphere. I also loved how many different little distractions were scattered around during this section, whether it was the multiple comics, the minigames, or just discovering more context about the laundromat and a string of mysterious killings, it all felt far more fleshed out than I was expecting for a game so small. While a decent portion of the more conventional horror content somewhat paled in comparison to me, despite still having some very strong vibes, the final confrontation was fantastically tense and made the whole thing worth it to me. Worth a play!
Neat creepy little game. The first half is pretty entertaining, you get to actually wait for your laundry to finish while watching old TV, reading actual comics, playing arcade games, or exploring the plaza. I like how you can grasp Sara’s story and personality by interacting with one of the many objects in the game. The second half of the game is a nice and intense suspenseful ride, although I think some triggers could’ve been placed better.
