Bonk's Adventure for the Game Boy is a charming and surprisingly addictive platformer. You play as a caveman with a massive head, using it to bash enemies and navigate colorful environments. While the controls can feel a little stiff at first, the gameplay loop of headbutting, bouncing around, and collecting power-ups becomes incredibly satisfying. It's undeniably a scaled-down version of its TurboGrafx-16 counterpart, but Bonk's Adventure retains a cheerful spirit and offers a decent dose of prehistoric fun.

Despite having some differences such as new enemies, it is still very similar to the previous game, I didn't think it was anything special, it serves as if it were a semi-port of the first game, I only recommend it out of curiosity or if you liked the original game (which I find it very difficult)

Fun game boy version of the TG16 game. This one is easier than the TG16 version and shorter too. It's always fun to see Bonk go grumpy mode when he eats some meat.

This was really fun, it reminded me a bit of Kirby's Dream Land, although I had an easier time with Bonk. Loved the music, the climbing, and the bonking too of course.

Bonk is a really interesting foil to Super Mario Bros. The game is slower, and more exploratory. You have a more acrobatic move set that Mario would really only adopt later. It's more forgiving in terms of letting you continue from where you've died, having health at all, and being able to expand it.

A port of a much more difficult and more rewarding game. However, it’s a very charming port, and likely the one I’d recommend for newer players, probably right after Kirby’s Dreamland.

Bonk's Adventure is an okay platformer. The goofy nature of the game is really fun, but the game itself isn't anything to go crazy over. It doesn't even really have any challenge to keep you staying on it. It's a little fun while it lasts but not fun enough to really make you want to pop it in again.

Not bad for a simple gameboy platformer. I actually speedran this for a bit 2 years ago, fun times. Only took a single play session to beat, so I'm not complaining. Beaten on 1/18/23 without continues. Pretty easy if you know what you're doing, but first time players can expect to die a few times along the way. Overall, not too bad.

BEATEN

As an adult, I appreciate a short, simple game that doesn't overstay its welcome.

As a kid, I'd probably be pissed off if I payed full price for this game and finished it in an hour.
