Yea very nice game whatever fuck ethan kath

Played as part of Atari 50.

Oh, this one sucks. 8-directional movement, which doesn't sound like it's worth mentioning for a pacman clone, but you're not locked to the grid and need to fumble your way around the map trying to hit the hitboxes for all the "dots". The elevators similarly have annoyingly small areas and don't feel like you can stick yourself in them like you can with the arcade one. Maybe the first game in this collection that's invoked an actual face of disgust for most of the playtime here. Wasn't the biggest fan of the arcade version anyways, but it plays like fine art compared to this lmao

Playing Through My Evercade Collection Part 1: Atari Vol 1

You can almost feel the system straining at the edges with this one... Ok maybe not the system because lets face it, you're playing this in an emulator or a collection on a current system that uses emulation.... but you can feel the limitations that's for sure.

Its honestly a surprisingly competent attempt at bringing Crystal Castles over to the 2600, realising its limitations, changing stages and items to match and reducing some of the Arcade toughness cheap death nonsense since its not needed here, for instance certain enemies are certainly easier to deal, its easier to time to kill the green alien enemies for instance...

But its also just so finicky as well. They would have been better served making the collectables a little bigger as its sometimes frustrating trying to pick them up. The stages as well get old quite fast. Its a reasonable attempt to port a game that never was going to make it across intact but one that never really hits properly.

Collect the crystals beat the level. A nice looking game for what the 2600 is limited too.

A minor miracle of a port job from the arcade. Can't fault it for lacking in the visuals department, especially since the original's were so distinctive, but they did drop the ball on some of the gameplay specifics. Picking up the gems is way too finicky and your powered-up state is too short in duration. Still neat to play on 2600, though, especially if you know the arcade game.
