A solid sequel that changes things up in a lot of different ways. For a start, levels are now arranged into a world map, which allows for some forks in the road, optional levels, and so forth. Levels also have multiple variants as well, giving the game longer legs. In addition to a nice slate of new mechanics that are fun to mess with, the game also adds terrain and water, which expands the scope of what sort of puzzles can be built. It's a solid sequel that does a lot to keep things fresh.
While this one can still be fun, it's a huge step down from the first game. The energy system stops you from playing for too long but if you're on a really difficult level you want to sit there and try to figure it out. The challenges where you have to get the fruit are absolutely not worth it. Every time I tried I would get one or two less fruit than the goal amount, and when I used a hint it showed me the precisely timed cuts in which spots to get the amount needed. I could see myself coming back to the game to beat it, but definitely not to 100% like I did with the first Cut the Rope. I do still like some of the new challenges and mechanics introduced though which is why I gave this 3.5 stars
