With DDR being such a big hit in Japan, they decided to make a few spinoffs featuring music by specific bands and give them the "Dancing Stage" name. This is an experimental release, with some ideas showing up in later games (speed modifiers, a modifier menu, a difficulty beyond Maniac), and a few that didn't (different looking arrows on each difficulty which were kind of hard to read, difficulty ratings with decimals). I wasn't particularly a fan of the music outside of mild interest that there's a 90's J-Pop version of Toto's Africa, and it just led to some awkward charts. But hey, it gave us Sexy Planet and Celebrate Nite!

yeah i got nothing really to say about this one. It's a DDR game for sure but the songlist is 11 songs, none of them really stand out in any major way (except the two konami original songs that got brought over into later DDR games), and weirdest of all I felt like the audio balance was really messed up. The whole games volume was way too low and I had to crank up my TV speakers really high just to hear the dang thing, which certainly isn't something you want being said about your rhythm dancing game. Unfortunately this game didn't turn me into a TRUE KISS DESTINATION fan, and really I can't see any reason to play this when pretty much any other DDR game on PS1 would be a better choice.
