Goated game. Played it a million times as a dinosaur-obsessed kid. The combination of discovering fossils, cleaning those fossils, reviving dinosaur pals from said fossils, and then fighting OTHER revived dinosaurs with YOUR revived dinosaurs was like crack cocaine for me as a kid. I'm still recovering.
Two of my friends also had this game and so we'd battle each other with our vivosaurs. I always lost because I sucked. Good times.

Fossil Fighters but now you fight a skull emoji instead of aliens.
weirdly enough, this game felt like a bit of a step down for me from the original. the story was MUCH less fun this time around, although i admit i may have had a bad taste in my mouth from the stupid final boss with a, like, 5 minute unskippable cutscene beforehand that i just couldn't beat. this game felt like it was exclusively for children, with no ability for adults to enjoy it (and i say this as someone who has played both games as an adult), and it just felt more... generic?

I will never stop singing this games praises. I want to be popular on Twitter/YouTube only so I can push the Fossil Fighters propoganda. I just replayed it again on stream earlier in 2021 and it's even better the second time.

Some jank here and there does not stop FFC from being one of the best monster taming RPGs on the DS, beating Pokemon in several aspects, including battle system and post game activities.

Not a Pokemon clone. The fights are fun enough, and can even be tricky at times, though my main draw has always been the reviving process. The story is surprisingly kinda good. It's cheesy, no doubt, but there are some genuinely cool/interesting plot elements and character moments.

Story was surprisingly even better than the first and it seems like others agree. I would pay 60 bucks for a Switch remaster of the original and these games.
Hidden gem of a game. Unironically a masterpiece. Fantastic and deep combat system, great atmosphere and music, addicting collectathon gameplay, and a pretty damn good story for a kid's game.

my most heavily anticipated game, and one of my favorite jrpgs ever made. the gameplay was not too expanded on compared to the first, but the story and its characters i found more investing and charming, especially rupert, todd, and the sideplots with the tribes. truly one of my favorite worlds, and an underrated gem of the jrpgs.
