Trying to pinpoint what exactly went wrong here, in terms of people not preferring this DLC as much to Gay Tony.
I think it’s because the story is not as interesting; and it’s just depressing. Johnny is a tragic guy and he arouses pity.
Beyond that, the gameplay is good, more of the same really. The bike is the fun part, travelling around in a group on the road is fun does feel a bit like a precursor to Red Dead 2.

not as good as IV but it's still good
the concept itself isnt as badly executed as i thought it would be. im not sure if they updated the bikes here or if my version just has something but the bikes control way better than they do in IV and i found myself using the bikes way more than the cars. the missions are nothing special but i was enjoying myself.
the story is an absolute mess however, the pacing is all over the place and every character is way more interesting than johnny himself is, the writing has its funny moments nonetheless but that's to be expected from a gta game.
overall, while the game has a lot of flaws, there is still fun to be had here and the concept itself is interesting, the execution just could've been way better. despite this, i do not see this game being a full fledged game, it just could've been slightly longer to have more impact.

"I am not in the dude business, dude"
I played this after 'The Ballad of Gay Tony' and it is significantly less interesting. I am loath to dislike it for that reason alone, as a standalone adventure it is perfectly fun (and quite hilarious if you know the fate of Johnny Klebitz) but it simply did not have the same polish or attention to character development.

I believe this... game? add-on? represents an interesting addition for the GTA IV world, but it has its shortcomings. Mainly that the main story is too predictable from almost the very first cutscene. All the Lost members dynamics are crystal clear from the start and they don't change at all, and the rest of the story tries too hard to tie-in with GTA IV main story even if it doesn't make a lot of sense.
Thankfully, the new weapons refresh the gameplay enough to keep it interesting. Although they feel overpowered, the game isn't long enough that it becomes boring. The riding physics for the chopper-style bikes are also great, and considering riding is half of the gameplay, that's a strong point in favour. Such a shame that the same can't be said about the more sporty bikes that you also have access to, but they don't fit the aesthetic so it's not too bad.
Overall, good, worth playing, but nothing to write home about

definitely worth a play if you liked GTA IV but ONLY if you liked GTA IV. It's story is sidelined for insignificant, yet still very fun, missions trying to just be "Look! I'm a biker!" and a tie into GTA IV. You can definitely see that Rockstar weren't happy with how the story went and recycled and remastered it for Red Dead Redemption 2.
More GTA IV. Excellent and improved bike riding mechanics mean it's a great deal of fun to roam around with the Lost MC. Concise story with a decent if somewhat predictable arc. Felt like the gunplay was tighter here but could just be me getting used to it. Soundtrack top tier and the intro with Highway Star is absolutely fantastic. On to BoGT!
Nice little extra story in GTA IV - same time, same city, but a different perspective. The plot is mostly independent from the main game and the second DLC, but at some points connected with them or indirectly referenced, just like Half-Life and its add-ons. The biker theme is really cool and isn't as common in videogames as it should be. The missions are just as good and unique as in the main game, unlike Undead Nightmare DLC for RDR which mostly was cemetery cleansing x100 times. Also, plenty of new vehicles (mostly bikes), few new weapons and improved handling for motorcycles to encourage using them. I prefer the main game story, but this one is also great and an absolute must for the complete GTA IV experience.
