Total 4

A nice little extension piece to the main story, new kind of weapons and new kind of enemies and I gotta say wrt combat, I had more fun here than in the main game trying to experiment on all the new weapons they brought in for the dlcs and prior to it. The story I'd say don't go with any expectations, that's kinda applicable with the main game as well. It was fun and the new area looked great but I have to say the whole Quen area for the DLC is horribly optimised for PC, I literally got less than half the performance I got during the main game which itself was pretty shaky cuz of my vram limitation. The area doesn't even look that different or improved upon compared to the main game if you ask for the amount of performance drop. All that said visually what an experience it was to pilot those airborne and waterborne machines, absolute beauty. Really looking forward to find out how much better the third game's gonna look in contrast to this. Also Sylens was literally one of the best characters in both the games. Lance Reddick was such a goat, gonna miss his presence not just here but also in John Wick and a potential Quantum Break sequel.

Muito bom!! Agrega muito à história, adicionando as lésbicas tribais! O boss final desse amassa o da campanha principal!

fairly meaty expansion which is nice but already pretty tired of this formula

More HFW now with new enemies and environments, plus some lesbian seasoning? Yes please!

Finally got around to the DLC portion. You can tell that this was only made for the PS5, especially the final boss battle. Liked some of the new skills you unlocked and the new machines were cool to battle.

It's more Forbidden West. Doesn't do anything new or interesting. More of an additional 3 hours to the base game. Doesn't add anything to the story besides a new notable character.

I enjoyed this DLC a lot. The new area looks incredible and was designed well. I loved the verticality of it. I'd have loved if it was in the same world space like the Frozen Wilds were but it's no big deal.

The story was fun, the new and returning characters were good. I really like the character development for Aloy. The final boss was really fun too, I was hoping for this in the base game, but alas we got there eventually.

Amazing graphics. Amazing last boss.

Fun addition to Horizon Forbidden West, though it kinda says something that I wasn't motivated to 100% the DLC (yet at least). I enjoy the game but I think the difficulty becomes too exhausting, to the point I lowered it even below normal, and this DLC doesn't feel like it will necessarily have impact on the main Horizon story.

Loved it. Horizon taken to it's mechanical limits.

One of the most underrated franchises of our time. This game’s pushes the ps5 to new levels. The scale of things is extraordinary on this DLC. Loved the game, the story, the gameplay… just wish it was longer.

Short and sweet. Still can't get over how absolutely stunning this game looks at times. Worth playing for any fan.

Agora a atração principal dessa DLC realmente é a ultima boss fight.

More forbidden west. Story is still meh, but main quest scenario is more focused (w/ less open world tedium) and has a better villain than the base game. Has a great final boss fight that is easily the best in the series and a nicer note to end things on.

Burning Shores part of the map being designed around flight is an improvement. The couple new machine types didn't really wow me over but boss fights make up for it.

HORIZON FORBIDDEN WEST: BURNING SHORES - STORY DLC DONE RIGHT

I interspersed my playthrough of Burning Shores with God of War Ragnarok's free Valhalla expansion and Marvel's Spider-Man 2 and, in several ways, I ended up enjoying both DLC titles much more than the fully-fledged £60 game.

Now this isn't to say Spider-Man was bad by any means (see my review), just that the worlds and stories that both Valhalla and Burning Shores presented were ones which I found more compelling.

I wasn't even expecting to enjoy Burning Shores as much as I did after picking it up on a whim for £10 whilst it was on sale, but I came away feeling as if I'd have happily paid double the price for what I'd just experienced.

First of all, it gets thrown around a lot but this expansion looks even more STUNNING than Forbidden West, especially when flying above Los Angeles, which is no small feat by the developers at Guerrilla given how great the original game looked.

The quests also seemed much more fleshed out than in FW and the locations were extremely interesting to explore, particularly the Old World ruins of which there are several in this DLC.

Being an expansion, combat and traversal mechanics are very much the same as in FW with a few slight additions here and there. But it is the story told, the characters you encounter and the world which is presented which make this DLC truly shine.

And this isn't even mentioning the absolutely spectacular scale of the expansion's final encounter, which is just jaw-dropping.

An absolute must-play for fans of the original game, and a triumph of DLC content which shows all developers how expansions to an already-great game should be done.

not great :/ but lance reddick shows up at the end!

Man Londra sucks. Don't form cults. The Horus fight is amazing.

it was a fun continuation to a great game

In total, my PS5 showed 110 hours logged in Horizon Forbidden West. For starters- it's remarkable to me that I was willing to spend that much time in an open-world game to begin with. I find myself avoiding large open-worlds entirely these days, but it's a testament to Guerilla that I wanted to see as much of the world that they crafted as I could.

On the other hand, I wish I could say that all of my time with HFW was stellar. Burning Shores really reminded me of why I started to sour on the Horizon formula late in my playthrough and while it brought many welcome additions, I think Guerilla has a tall task ahead of them to bring some innovation to the next Horizon game.

My main complaints are with the game's combat, something that on the whole, I felt was a downgrade from Zero Dawn, despite the plethora of new options. Aloy just doesn't feel as strong as she did late game, and being stun locked, dazed, blown away by various machines, sometimes into another attack, really, really became tiresome, even when you're facing down a regular group of mobs.

I think Horizon at this point too suffers from a beautiful world that I could look at for hours, but very little actual substance on the ground- and I think that's Guerilla's big challenge: they've made the world too big and too beautiful and set themselves on a trajectory to top that again, when I would love to have less in a FW follow up.

I'll briefly say that, the one thing that kept me coming back is Aloy's story, and even though there's little overall development, I feel hard pressed to say that I'm not interested in seeing how everything concludes as well as Aloy's developing relationship with her allies.

An exceptional epilogue to the excellent base game, Burning Shores features a despicable new villain, engaging side content, and a gorgeous new locale to explore. It’s a satisfying endcap to the 2022 smash hit.

It’s good give it a go and make sure you do all the side content.

Good graphics, cool world-building expansion, cool new biomes, new tools and at least some new interesting characters that don't worship Aloy like everyone else in the original game.

Can't wait for so much more content after playing through the Main Quest of Horizon Forbidden West! Very Challenging and Exciting Game, although not too Difficult!

Really beautiful expasion, but really short. The scenery is gorgeous and some quests are really cinematic. However the whole experience felt lacking. It needed more story, more side quests and more new machines. It worths a try, but it would leave a bitter taste if I paid a full 20 for this....
